The first safari jackets date from around 1939 when the rich upper class discovered Africa as a travel and hunting destination. The safari jacket allowed wealthy Europeans, inspired by the fascination of an »unexplored« country, to roam the vastness of the land without the need to carry a bag. In the four front pockets of the safari jacket, they stowed their binoculars, notepads, cartridges and all the other essentials for their daily adventures and explorations.
The »Professeur« model is characterized by its timeless elegance, lovingly designed details and outstanding workmanship. The half-lined jacket is made from soft goat suede. A light waxing of the seam and pocket details gives the jacket its special vintage look. The rising lapels, the typical epaulets, the four distinctive front patch pockets with curved flaps, the practical waist belt with leather buckle, a curved back yoke and parallel back panels stylishly emphasize the classic look. The masculine features cleverly hint at a natural sophistication and emphasize the individual style of the wearer.
